Hi, my name is Ria, and I’m an applied mathematics major. My passion for math stems from numbers being found anywhere. Learning that everything can be measured or created with mathematics is something I find fascinating. Since it’s through different types of calculations with numbers that new concepts and inventions are created. I’m especially interested in seeing math applied to the growing fields of technology.
I’m very thankful for the words of advice I’ve received from people who are in the CalNerds community. It’s exciting to be able to meet peers who are just as passionate about research, and being able to have this shared experience. By being a part of CalNerds, I’m able to have a space where I can be among peers from my STEM classes and meet people with a shared major. I’d like to thank this community space for the resources, support, and guidance I’ve received since joining the cohort.
