I am from Pomona, CA and I went to UCLA where I majored in biology and received my bachelor’s degree in science in 2012. I went on to receive my PhD in plant biology from UC Berkeley. I am now a postdoctoral research associate at the Southern Oregon and Research Extension Center affiliated with Oregon State University. I am currently researching fungal diseases in pear and grape. Outside of work I enjoy hiking, reading, and watching movies

NERDS helped me do research on a bacterial pathogen in grad school, by providing funding for me. The advisors in the program also helped me make sure that I was on track with my graduate studies. Furthermore, NERDS helped prepare me for life after grad school by providing resources such as workshops to develop my LinkedIn profile and the means to create business cards.
