Hi! I’m a first generation Latina who’s passionate about giving back to my community and creating impact through science. I’m especially interested in the biotech and medical device space because I love exploring the intersection of hardware, the human body, and problem solving. My dream is to earn a PhD to dive deeper in research and eventually become someone who creates knowledge and technology that helps people. Outside of the lab I’m always looking for new adventures. I love trying out new food spots, exploring the outdoors, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
NERDS has played a huge role in shaping my academic journey, especially because of the support from its directors. Di and Chris have guided me through professional development, helped me prepare for conferences, connected me with research opportunities, and have always been there as a supportive listening ear. NERDS also creates a welcoming environment where I can study, get work done, and feel completely supported. It’s a space where I never feel judged, rather encouraged by a community of people who want to see each other succeed.
