STEM Role Models

From poring over math puzzles as a kid to debugging machine-learning pipelines at midnight, I’ve always chased big, open-ended questions. That drive now powers my dual major in Statistics and Computer Science at UC Berkeley and a slate of hands-on research roles: SURGE Scholar at Stanford developing an AI literature-mining tool for high-pressure materials science. Beyond the lab, I mentor transfer students through Transfer Club, serve as a Women in AI ambassador, and still organize campus cultural events that draw hundreds. And when the laptop finally closes, you’ll find me scouting, making persian foods or spiking volleyballs with friends—still, unabashedly, a proud NERD at heart.

Cal NERDS has been key to my success at Berkeley. Diana, Chris, and the team made my
transition smooth and gave me a community I can always count on.
Through the summer research program, I gain hands-on experience, developed both technical
and soft skills, and built lasting connections in the space-tech field. Cal NERDS helpe me believe
that becoming a researcher isn’t just a dream—it’s a goal I can reach.
